Sentinel Project: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

According to official government sources, the Central Committee is made up of the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and People’s Republic of China (PRC). Composed of 205 members, the group is supposedly the CCP’s highest authority while the National People’s Congress is not in session. On paper, it retains the power of selecting the General Secretary, members of the Politburo, Politburo Standing Committee, and Central Military Commission. In reality, decisions are dictated by a few well placed and powerful individuals in the PSC and Politburo.
