Sentinel Project: General Secretary of the Communist Party of China

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CCP) is the head of the organization and highest ranking individual in People's Republic of China (PRC). As the CCP is the only true political force in the Middle Kingdom, the General Secretary holds an immense amount of power over both the government and state.

Since the late 1980s, the General Secretary has also been the chairman of the Central Military Commission, and thus the Supreme Commander of the People's Liberation Army. The General Secretary is also normally the President of the PRC as well, confirming his control over state agencies.

The current General Secretary is Xi Jinping, a graduate of Tsinghua University.
